Job Description

We’re looking for a creative and motivated Social Media Intern to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for creating content for our social media channels with a focus on Instagram, Facebook, and Reddit.

Key Responsibilities

• Content Creation
  • Create “pillar” content on a weekly basis. This takes the form of posts like New in Wichita, Anniversary Posts, Weekly Event Rundown, Home of the Week, etc.
  • Event coverage or promotion
  • Repurpose content from the email into social content
  • Come up with new and engaging types of content based on trends
  • Copy and paste the live music calendar from our Thursday newsletter into the Wichita reddit page with a CTA to subscribe to the newsletter.
  • Collaborate with Landon to create static posts and short-form content.
• Strategy & Growth
  • Stay on top of social media trends while maintaining our brand’s unique identity.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as reach, engagement, follower growth, and conversions to newsletter subscribers.
  • Bring strategy and content ideas to monthly meetings.

Qualifications

• Experience using Instagram and Facebook is required.
• A strong passion for social media, with an interest in strategy and trends.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, with a keen eye for catching typos and copy errors. (Landon needs help with this)
• Must be based in Wichita, KS, and willing to travel around the Wichita area to capture content and attend events.
